課程概述
以白先勇的重要小說作品為核心，帶領學生閱讀臺灣現代文學中的都市書寫、離散記憶、同志情感、家族敘事與歷史變遷。課程將選讀〈台北人〉、〈孽子〉等代表文本，結合文學批評、影像改編與時代背景分析，引導學生理解白先勇小說中的人物塑造、美學風格與文化意涵。同時培養學生文本細讀、批判思考與口語討論能力，並思考現代社會中的身份認同與情感議題。
This course focuses on the major fictional works of Pai Hsien-yung and explores themes such as urban writing, diaspora memory, LGBTQ+ identity, family narratives, and historical transformation in modern Taiwanese literature. Through selected readings from Taipei People and Crystal Boys, students will analyze literary techniques, cultural contexts, and character portrayals while engaging with literary criticism and film adaptations. The course also aims to strengthen students’ close reading, critical thinking, and discussion skills, encouraging reflection on identity and emotional experience in contemporary society.

白先勇小說選讀
白先勇是台灣文壇與世界文壇的一則傳奇，他的小說不論是寫大時代的滄桑還是個人幽微的心緒，皆臻出神入化之境，也是台灣現代主義小說的領袖人物。他的小說被翻譯成多國語言，且不斷被改編成電影、電視劇與舞台劇，影響層面十分廣大。本課程即透過對白先勇小說的深入研討以探析其文學與美學上的成就。
Pai Hsien-yung is a legend in both Taiwanese and world literature. Whether depicting the vicissitudes of a great era or the subtle emotions of the individual, his novels reach a state of sublime artistry, making him a leading figure in Taiwanese modernist fiction. His novels have been translated into many languages and adapted into films, television dramas, and stage plays, exerting a wide-ranging influence. This course will explore Pai Hsien-yung's literary and aesthetic achievements through an in-depth study of his novels.

上課主要由教師講授，此外，亦配合課程內容讓同學進行分組討論與報告，以增進學習效果。
