“CHINESE DANCE HISTORY” is a required course for dance majors, designed to guide students in systematically understanding the development of Chinese dance from ancient times to the present. The course covers the stylistic characteristics, representative figures, and classic works of various historical periods, helping students grasp the evolutionary context of Chinese dance. Through this study, students gain a deeper understanding of the core spirit and cultural essence of Chinese dance art, thereby establishing a solid foundation for their future creative work and academic research.

《中國舞蹈史》為舞蹈專業學生之必修課，旨在引導學生系統性地認識中國舞蹈自古至今的發展歷程。課程內容涵蓋各歷史時期舞蹈的風格特徵、代表性人物與經典作品，幫助學生掌握中國舞蹈演變的脈絡，進而深入理解中華舞蹈藝術的核心精神與文化精髓，為其未來的舞蹈創作與研究奠定厚實基礎。
Course Description
History of Chinese Dance is a required course for dance majors. It aims to guide students in systematically understanding the historical development of Chinese dance from ancient times to the present. The course covers the stylistic characteristics, representative figures, and iconic works of dance across various historical periods. Through this exploration, students will grasp the evolution and transformation of Chinese dance, gaining deeper insight into the core spirit and cultural essence of Chinese dance art. This foundation will support their future pursuits in dance creation and research.

Course Objectives

課程需求
要報告
一.期末以專題報告、小組形式進行。
1.專題報告除了以PPT的方式呈現，還需要繳交紙本報告。
(紙本報告於報告日前一周課後繳交即可，逾時扣總成績5分。)
(請按照規定格式作紙本報告。)
2.報告方向：選擇某一個朝代當時某位代表人物、某種舞蹈類型或作品作深入探討。沒有字 數限制，但內文脈絡要清楚。
3.報告時間20~25分鐘，不得超過25分鐘。
4.每位組員皆要上台報告。(內容的分配由各組自行安排。)
5.每組報告結束，其他組別都要問至少一個問題，而報告組別選擇兩個問題回答。
6.專題報告從第14周開始。
I. The final assessment will be conducted in the form of a group project presentation.
1. In addition to presenting the project with a PowerPoint, a printed report must also be submitted.
(The printed report should be submitted after class one week before the presentation date. Late submission will result in a 5-point deduction from the final grade.)
(The printed report must follow the required format.)
2. Report focus: Choose a representative figure, a type of dance, or a work from a specific dynasty for in-depth research. There is no word limit, but the content must be coherent and clearly structured.
3. Each presentation should last 20–25 minutes and must not exceed 25 minutes.
4. Every group member must participate in the oral presentation. (Content distribution is to be arranged within each group.)
5. After each group presentation, all other groups are required to ask at least one question. The presenting group must then select two questions to answer.
6. Project presentations will begin from Week 14.
要考試期中考以筆試為主
The midterm exam will primarily be in written form.

1.錄製期末專題報告影片(畫面有人及PPT) 傳連結給老師。
2.將專題報告重新整理後，傳檔案至老師信箱。
3.以上，第18周結束前繳交，逾時不收。
二.如需請假，請依照學校規定辦理，否則以曠課論。曠課兩次當，請假須上學生請假系統並附上證明 。
三.上課前點名，下課要簽到。
I. Independent Study Assignment (chr7@ulive.pccu.edu.tw)
1. Record a final project presentation video (including both the presenter and the PPT) and send the link to the instructor.
2. Revise and organize the project report, then submit the file to the instructor’s email.
3. The above tasks must be submitted before the end of Week 18. Late submissions will not be accepted.
II. Leave of Absence
If you need to request leave, please follow the university regulations; otherwise, it will be counted as an unexcused absence. Two unexcused absences will result in failing the course. Requests for leave must be submitted through the student leave system with supporting documentation.
III. Attendance
Roll call will be taken before class, and students must also sign out after class.
