課程概述

利用舞蹈作品的實例分析;舞蹈在形式與風格上的體現,進而探討舞蹈美學在時代與地域的差異,以及在學術上的評價。啟發引領學生從觀眾,表演者,創作者,與舞蹈產業等各種不同的角度來連結舞蹈。剖析舞蹈作品的立意,藉以拓展觀舞的視野。課程設計理念強調舞蹈感知的能力,提升使用語言及文字表達舞蹈的能力。期待培養建立學生,描述、比較與批判舞蹈作品的媒材運用,動作語彙的選用,空間的形式,文化背景,與舞蹈原創性的能力。課程設計目標包含,瞭解舞蹈的本質、元素與媒材。分析舞蹈的形式、風格與內外結構。探究舞蹈分析的方法與工具。運用魯道夫・拉邦(Laban, R. 1879-1958)的分析理論與紀錄方法作實務分析練習。增進學生的本職學能,開拓學生的藝術視野。 Through case analyses of selected dance works, this course examines how dance is manifested in terms of form and style, and further explores differences in dance aesthetics across historical periods and regions, as well as their evaluation within academic contexts. It aims to inspire and guide students to connect with dance from multiple perspectives, including those of the audience, performer, creator, and the dance industry. By analyzing the intentions behind dance works, the course seeks to broaden students’ perspectives on viewing and understanding dance. The course design emphasizes the ability to perceive dance and aims to enhance students’ capacity to articulate dance through spoken and written language. It seeks to cultivate in students the ability to describe, compare, and critique dance works in terms of the use of media, the choice of movement vocabularies, spatial configurations, cultural background, and the originality of the choreography. The course objectives include: understanding the nature, elements, and media of dance; analyzing the form, style, and internal and external structures of dance; exploring methods and tools of dance analysis; applying Rudolf Laban’s (Laban, R., 1879–1958) analytical theories and notation methods in practical analytical exercises; and enhancing students’ professional competence while broadening their artistic horizons.

Course Design and Objectives: Exploring Dance Form, Style, and Aesthetics

This course utilizes examples of dance works to analyze the manifestation of dance in terms of form and style. It further examines the differences in dance aesthetics across eras and regions, as well as its academic evaluations. The course inspires and guides students to connect with dance from various perspectives, including those of the audience, performers, creators, and the dance industry. By dissecting the conceptual intent of dance works, it aims to broaden students’ perspectives on viewing dance.

The course design emphasizes developing the ability to perceive dance, enhancing language and writing skills for expressing dance-related concepts. It seeks to foster students’ ability to describe, compare, and critique dance works through analysis of the use of materials, choice of movement vocabulary, spatial forms, cultural context, and originality in dance.

Course Objectives:

1. Understand the Essence, Elements, and Media of Dance: Develop foundational knowledge of what constitutes dance and its diverse components.
2. Analyze Dance Form, Style, and Structure: Examine both the internal and external structures of dance works.
3. Explore Methods and Tools for Dance Analysis: Introduce and apply methodologies for dissecting and understanding dance.
4. Practical Application of Rudolf Laban’s Analysis Theory and Notation: Engage in hands-on analytical practice using the theories and recording methods of Rudolf Laban (1879–1958).
5. Enhance Professional Competence and Artistic Vision: Improve students’ expertise in their field while broadening their artistic perspectives.

Through this course, students will cultivate a deeper understanding of dance, develop analytical and critical thinking skills, and learn to articulate their observations effectively.
