課程概述

清‧康熙年間,老秀才蒲松齡融文白之長、兼雅俗之趣,歷時近四十年寫成《聊齋志異》一書,使中國文言短篇小說攀至峰巔。希藉一學年的時間,探索狐媚花妖、鬼魅精怪之美及其寓意。 Merging the merits of classical Chinese and vernacular, uniting the interests of grace and popularization, Pu Song Ling, a talent living in the period of reign of Kangxi Emperor, spent forty years to write “Liaozhai Zhiyi” (“Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio”) and elevates classical Chinese short story to the zenith of the genre. This class will spend one academic year to explore the beauty and allure of the sprites and fairies, and the implied moral.

授課內容

本課程引領學生深入《聊齋志異》的奇幻世界。課程從蒲松齡的生平與創作背景出發,透過精選篇章,依次探討「鬼狐人情」、「性別權力」、「社會批判」三大主題。課堂結合文本細讀、文化史分析及現代理論視角,並穿插影視改編討論。學生將透過每週札記、課堂討論及期末專題,深入理解古典小說的敘事藝術與思想深度,並思考其與當代議題的對話,最終完成個人詮釋或創意轉化。
This course guides students into the fantastical world of Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio. Beginning with Pu Songling's life and creative context, it explores four major themes through selected chapters: “Ghosts, Fox Spirits, and Human Affairs,” “Gender Power,” “Social Critique.” Classes integrate close textual reading, cultural-historical analysis, and contemporary theoretical perspectives, interspersed with discussions of film and television adaptations. Through weekly journal entries, classroom discussions, and a final project, students will gain a deep understanding of the narrative artistry and intellectual depth of classical fiction. They will also explore its dialogue with contemporary issues, culminating in the completion of a personal interpretation or creative adaptation.

課前閱讀:每週指定1-3篇正文。
課堂進行:教師導講與小組討論、問題導向學習。
多媒體運用:引入改編影視,比較敘事轉化。
期末專題:鼓勵同學以小論文、創意改編或跨媒介比較等形式呈現。
Required Reading: 1-3 assigned texts per week.
Classroom Activities: Teacher-led lectures, group discussions, and inquiry-based learning.
Multimedia Integration: Incorporate adapted films and TV series to compare narrative transformations.
Final Project: Students are encouraged to present their work through short essays, creative adaptations, or cross-media comparisons.
