課程概述

建築乃是在歷史、社會、政治與文化相互結合與影響之下，所誕生之智慧的結晶。在進行建築研究時總會觸及史觀問題，如果能先理解建築之歷史背景與演變，知其前後的因果關係，即能盡量地避免以偏概全之病。因此將各式各樣深具特色的建築，如傳統寺廟、民居、近代建築等，分門別類的予以解說，進而明瞭從古至今，建築的發展與情況。

授課內容

中國長期以來即是東亞文化圈的中心，其積累之建築文化影響了周邊的區域，為建立全面性的建築史觀時重要的基礎脈絡。本課程首先將循著時間軸的推衍，對於中國古代的建築乃至城市之發展變遷進行概要的講述；接著再針對宮殿、宗教建築、住宅等建築類型做進一步的解說。鑑於臺灣亦深受中國文化的影響，課程後半的規劃將以臺灣為主。除了遷徙自中國大陸的漢民族所營造的傳統建築之外，教學內容同時也涵蓋原住民族、荷西時期、清末洋式、日治時期等不同時代或族群所構築的建築樣貌，以呈現臺灣多元建築文化共存、發展的特色。
China has been the center of the East Asian cultural circle for a long time, and its accumulated architectural culture has influenced the surrounding areas. Therefore, the history of Chinese architecture is an important foundation for grasping a comprehensive historical view of architecture. This course will first chronologically give a brief description of the development and changes of ancient Chinese architecture and cities; then, it will further describe the types of buildings such as palaces, religious buildings, and residences. In view of the fact that Taiwan is also deeply influenced by Chinese culture, the second half of the course will focus on Taiwan. In addition to the traditional architecture built by the Han people who migrated from mainland China, the teaching content also covers the architectural styles of different eras or ethnic groups such as the aboriginal people, the Dutch and Spanish period, the Western style in the late Qing Dynasty, and the Japanese occupation period, so as to present the characteristics of multiple architectural cultures in Taiwan.

依循課程主題製作講義於課堂講授，並搭配與主題相關之多媒體教材，提供學生多元的知識吸收媒介。
