課程目標

以建築的生命週期來看，一棟好的建築物除了需要有美學的素養以外，更需要許多科學的配合。建築相關的科學可以大分成工程科學（Engineering science）與社會科學（Society science）兩類。與建築相關的工程科學包含數學、物理學、化學、力學、材料學等，主要應用於建築物理環境、設備、工法、構法、結構等領域；而社會科學包含社會學、經濟學、心理學、統計學等，主要用於建築企劃、計畫、規劃、營建管理等領域。在現今建築相關專業分工漸趨複雜與專業化的情形下，過去建築師以英雄主義主導整個建築設計過程已非時代所需，今日的建築師需要更能夠統合各種專業的人才與知識才能成為優秀的指揮者，也因此今日的建築師更需要對於環控與結構等相關領域有所了解。 本課程對於上述建築相關科學進行概論式介紹，授課內容以工程科學中的環境科學（Environmental science）與能源科技（Energy science）為兩大主軸。此二主軸亦與日本環境共生住宅（Symbiosis housing）定義中的低環境衝擊（Low impact）、與環境調和（High contact）以及舒適（Amenity）相呼應。學生在本課程中將學習到為創造以人的活動為中心的建築空間時，如何應用科學來創造舒適、健康與節能的生活。

Buildings related science can be divided into engineering science and society science roughly. In this lesson, issues about environmental science and energy science will be discussed mainly.

授課內容

本課程之目的在於建立學生對於環境設計相關基礎知識、概念與操作手法的認識。首先透過廣域的都市發展歷程與在地的聚落型態構成等巨視角度之說明，使其理解歷史、社會、文化等無形環境對於形塑大尺度空間所產生的影響；同時也培養其對於自然生態環境的尊重，關注環境的永續發展。其次為講授環境設計的前置調查和操作手法，透過實際觀察、構想，從都市的有形資源、交通節點、空間再生、微型改造等面向，討論具可行性的創新設計操作。
The purpose of this course is to give students the basic knowledge, concepts and operations related to environmental design. First of all, through the explanation of the broad urban development process and the formation of local settlement types from a macroscopic point of view, it enables students to understand the impact of intangible environments such as history, society, and culture on the shaping of large-scale spaces. At the same time, it also guides them to respect for the ecological environment and pay attention to the sustainable development of the environment. The second is to teach the pre-investigation and operation methods of environmental design. Through actual observation and conception, discuss the feasible innovative design operation from the aspects of tangible urban resources, traffic nodes, space regeneration, and micro-renovation.

依循課程主題製作講義於課堂講授，並搭配與主題相關之多媒體教材，提供學生多元的知識吸收媒介。
