課程目標
1. 使學生瞭解學術研究之方法論，以及論文寫作之技巧、以及格式。
2. 使學生熟悉國內外相關領域之學術期刊、文獻與資料庫、統計資料來源，以提高學生從事研究以及論文寫作之效率。

課程概述
本課程介紹從事學術研究與論文寫作時，所必須具備之方法論與論文寫作之格式、技巧與應注意之事項等。本課程將步驟化地介紹從事研究方法論，所包括之步驟包括：研究問題之形成、文獻搜尋系統、常用文獻與資料庫、國內統計資料來源、研究設計方法、資料收集工具、樣本設計、研究計畫書之撰寫、資料分析方法、以及論文之撰寫等。研究論文格式部分將以美國當代語文協會（Modern Language Association of American，MLA ) 所編撰之寫作手冊為教材，介紹撰寫碩博士論文、期刊論文、技術報告之架構、格式、註解、文獻引用等。修習本課程之學生必需每個星期做作業，學期中必需交期其中報告，期末必需交碩士研究計畫書。This course aim at introducing the research methodology and the guidelines for writing and presenting a thesis. The methodology for doing a research is introduced step-by-step staring from problem formation, literature survey, research design, data collection tools, sample selection, research proposal writing, data analysis and thesis writing. The format of writing a research paper provided by the Modern Language Association of American (MLA) is also introduced in details in this course. Each student in this course is required to do exercises, writing a term paper, and summiting a research proposal as a final report.

內容包含學術研究與論文寫作之方法論與論文寫作之格式、技巧與注意事項等如下：
1. 研究方法之介紹；2. 研究方法之邏輯思維；3. 問題陳述與假說；4. 文獻回顧；5. 理論與模式；6. 資料蒐集；7. 調查研究；8. 統計分析；9. 研究報告準備；10. APA研究報告撰寫格式；11. 論文的寫作與發表；12. 景觀學術論文研讀評析-題目研擬,文獻回顧,研究方法探討,資料品質檢核,資料分析評述,討論與結論。
The course includes as follows.
1. Research Introduction: what, why and who ? 2. Research logic；
3. Problem statement and hypothesis；4. Literature review；5. Theory and model；6. Data collection；7. Data surve；8. Statistical analysis；
9. Preparation of research paper；10. APA format of research paper；11. Thesis writing and publication；12. Reading and studying of landscape research papers.
授課方式
1. 依照教材和講義，以powerpoint講授研究方法與論文寫作，含學術論文架構：邏輯、方法、過程、步驟、關聯、論述等。
2. 研讀評析景觀學術論文，並於課堂上共同討論。
3. 擬定碩士論文題目並撰寫論文研究計畫書。
1. Introducing the research methodology and the guidelines for writing and presenting a thesis according to the textbook, manuscript, and powerpoint.
2. Reading and studying the landscape research paper, and also discussing in the class.
3. Presenting the thesis topic and writing the thesis research proposal.
