課程目標
The purpose of this course is to help EFL students understand, practice and build the necessary reading strategies and skills to effectively comprehend English text. In order to enhance reading comprehension skills, students should recognize the importance of ""intensive"" and ""extensive"" reading; furthermore, make utmost efforts to become strategic and life-long readers. Students are expected to read strategically and have acquired the following reading skills and strategies: understanding vocabulary in context, recognizing main ideas, identifying supporting details, recognizing implied main ideas and the central point, making inferences, identifying an author’s purpose and tone, evaluating arguments and so on.
本課程目標是為幫助學生了解、練習與建構必要之閱讀策略和技巧以有效了解英文文本。為提昇閱讀策略和技巧, 學生應明瞭廣泛與深度閱讀之重要性並力行之成為策略型的終身讀者。 本課程包含下列閱讀技巧與策略: 推敲字意、辨認主旨、分辨細節、辨識隱含的中心思想、做出推論、明瞭作者立意與態度、評估論點等技巧。

課程概述
The course focuses on developing effective reading skills that are essential for literal and critical levels of comprehension. Students will receive extensive guided practice of the reading skills and strategies through an appealing collection of readings and carefully-designed activities. Upon completion of the course, students will become strategic readers and critical thinkers.
本課程以由簡入深的建構學習方式幫助學生練習有效英文閱讀技巧為主。學生在教師引導下藉由閱讀多樣文本與學習活動中習得與運用有效閱讀技巧與策略。期望學生在完成此課程後能成為具備策略性閱讀與批判性思考能力的讀者。
授課內容
This course guides students to practice various reading strategies and skills through intensive and pleasure readings. Various genres such as, news, short stories, journal articles are offered in the course to develop their reading comprehension, speed reading ability, vocabulary in context, recognition of text structure, etc.
本課程藉由廣泛與深度閱讀訓練,引導學生練習不同的閱讀策略和技巧。學生會接觸多元性的文體(例如:新聞、短文、期刊文章等)以培養與提升閱讀理解、閱讀的速度、猜測字意、辨識文體等能力。
Students will:
1. develop an understanding of reading to learn through pleasure reading ;
2. practice, record and adjust reading speed accordingly;
3. be able to use context clues to make predictions of unknown words;
4. identify main ideas , supporting details, and the central point;
5. analyze and discuss various text structures and relationships;
6. make inferences;
7. recognize the author’s purpose and tone;
8. be able to reflect on the strategies they use;

中國文化大學學生請假規則
第十二條 申請考試假應具備證明文件如下:
一、重大疾病:須蓋有醫院關防、院長印章之地區性醫院、區域性醫院、醫學中心等診斷證明書。
二、因親病喪葬:限直系親屬病危、喪亡、葬禮須分別檢附醫院證明、死亡證明、訃聞等有關文件。
三、公假:符合本規則第五條所規定項目,經核准持所准公文辦理請假。
四、懷孕生產:學生本人因懷孕所致之事(病)假、產假,得持醫生證明辦理請假
(同學請持醫生證明並主動於考試完一週內與老師聯繫並完成補考)
