課程目標
本課程所設計方向將著重在邏輯思考及資料結果分析以提昇學習效率，並幫助同學瞭解敘述統計與推論統計的基本概念及其應用範圍。讓學生能夠利用統計方法蒐集、整理、分析與解釋資料以解決問題以及提供研擬決策的參考依據。此外，使同學能夠判斷他人統計結果的可靠性，與確切瞭解統計數據的含意而做出正確的分析並加強同學的邏輯思考能力使其能在面對大量且複雜的資訊時能運用統計方法的運用而整理出相關重要的資訊，使資訊更為客觀。
This course is designed to enhance learning efficiency through logical thinking and data analysis, helping students understand the basic concepts and applications of descriptive and inferential statistics. Students will be able to use statistical methods to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data to solve problems and provide a basis for decision-making. Furthermore, it will enable students to judge the reliability of others' statistical results, accurately understand the meaning of statistical data to make correct analyses, and strengthen their logical thinking skills. This will allow them to use statistical methods to organize relevant and important information when faced with large amounts of complex data, making the information more objective.

課程概述
統計學是透過資料處理、分析，以提供決策參考的科學。本課程分上下學期各二學分，上學期以敘述統計、機率論及抽樣為主；下學期則偏重推論統計。透過課程訓練期使同學能熟悉統計基礎理論與方法，並能結合統計軟體進行資料分析與決策應用。
The purpose of this course is to make students familiar with basic statistics theories and methods. After this class, students should be able to apply statistics models, make decisions based upon statistical analysis, and run statistical software.
授課內容
本課程使學生瞭解統計學原理與理論，並以案例來說明，加強學生對統計學認識與應用。作為學生深入研究的基礎與決策分析之參考依據。以達到本課程之三大目標：
1、瞭解統計學的定義、原理與理論。
2、利用統計學理論來探討在都市環境中所呈現的情況及其應用。
3、案例說明。
This courses emphasizes applications and fundamental concepts of statistics.
It is designed to be practical, flexible, and modern.
This course provides a practical orientation that teaches students how to identify the correct method, calculate the statistics, and properly interpret the results in the context of the question or decision at hand.
