課程目標

地形學及實習旨在介紹地形學及其研究方法, 並從中鍛鍊學生進行地景生態系統的分析和模擬的能力. The course Geomorphology and Practical Training aims to introduce geomorphology and its research methodologies. Furthermore, it seeks to cultivate students' abilities to analyze and model landscape ecosystems.

課程概述

形學及實習將就地形學的基礎, 地形學的研究方法, 以及各種地景生態系統作一概要介紹, 其中包括系統理論, 基本力學與化學, 地表地質, 風化與搬運作用, 坡地地形, 火山與造構地形, 河流地形, 海岸地形, 風成地形, 冰川地形, 環冰地形, 以及溶蝕地形. 同學在這門課中將被要求學會"界定問題", "建構模式", "測量形態與作用", "分析與整理資料".This is a course for introducing geomorphology. It includes lectures on the general system theory, geomechanics and geochemistry, geology of regolith, weathering and transportation, slope geomorphology, volcanism and tectonics, fluvial geomorphology, coastal geomorphology, desert geomorphology, glacial and peri-glacial geomorphology, and Karst geomorphology. Students are required to be able to identify geomorpgic problems, to build models for concerned geomorphic systems, to operate surveys on morphologies and earth surface processes.

授課內容

「地形學及實習」透過課堂講授、室內作業、戶外實察,說明地形學基礎觀念、研究方法、理論模式、地形測繪和應用,並介紹地表各種地景生態系統。課程主題分為基礎、地景生態、應用,共三部份14個單元。基礎包括地形系統、地質條件、岩石地形、火山與造構、風化與搬運、侵蝕機制;地景生態包括坡地、河流、海岸、荒漠、冰川、環冰;應用包括地勢分析、地理設計。地景生態各子題都以機制、形態、作用、形態動力、演化,以及實例介紹來框架課程內容。課程中學員除學習基本觀念、地形事實之外,將被要求測繪地形和作用,並且分析與整理測繪成果。
The course explains the basic concepts, research methods, theoretical models, topographic mapping and applications of geomorphology through lectures, indoor exercises, and field surveys, and it also introduces various landscape ecosystems on the Earth's surface. The topics in the course includes the basic, the landscape ecosystem, and the application, three parts with 14 units in total. The basic part is consisted of 1) geomorphic systems, 2) geological settings, 3) rocks and landforms, 4) volcanism and tectonics, 5) weathering and transport, and 6) mechanics of erosion; the part of landscape ecosystems is consisted of 7) slope, 8) river, 9) coast, 10) desert, 11) glacier, and 12) periglacial areas; the application is consisted of terrain analysis and geo-design. Each topic of landscape ecosystem is divided into six units, 1) mechanism, 2) morphology, 3) function, 4) morphodynamics, 5) evolution, and 6) examples. Beside lectures, students will be required to complete assigned exercises and field surveys.
