課程概述
本課程以人─地系統為探究對象,分析目前物種資源保護、自然保護(含水土保持、森林保護、防治土地沙漠化和次生鹽漬化等)和環境保護、污染防治等環境問題,並論述環境因素(含地質、氣象、水文、土壤等因素)對人類的負面影響及防治,再論及人類活動對環境因素的負面影響及防治。
Exploring human-land system,the course will analysis the present species protection,nature protection (including soil and woods protection,desert and slated land prevention)and environmental protection,pollution prevention.In addition to that,we will discuss negative environmental factors (including geology, meteorology, hydrology and soil),influence to human being and for prevention.
授課內容
本課程為環境與災害基礎課程,透過講演、研討、同儕評審,以及實作報告,共四個部份,來協助學員全面瞭解環境災害及其防減災管理知識,並透過數值和統計建模、遙感技術、實地考察、數據分析,來與 GIS 平臺整合,針對自選的環境災害課題,完成練習案例報告。
課程分為四部份。第一部份,四周的講演,講授環境系統與災害管理相關理論框架,內容涉及自然與人為災害、風險評估、防災、減災策略四題。第二部份,四周研討,主題包括震災、洪災、旱災、汙染四題。學員分組,並且各組自選一題,寫成報告,由它組審議,完成答辯,以報告和答辯兩份文件,作為期中報告成績。
期中考周之後是第三部份,各組針對自選災害一題,提出個案調研,完成風險評估與防減災解方建議,口頭報告,並根據批評意見,修改報告後上繳作為期末報告。最後一部分,各組針對個案調研成果涉及的專業期刊論文,每一位學員舉例不同專業期刊參考論文,進行批判性閱讀和討論,並且每一位學員的批判性閱讀心得,於自主學習周期間,寫成一頁A4報告,作為自主學習成果。
This course provides a basic training for environment and hazard. Through lecture, discussion, peer review, and practical report, it provides students with a comprehensive understanding of environmental hazards and disaster prevention and mitigation management. Students will also utilize numerical and statistical modeling, remote sensing technology, field work, and data analysis integrated with a GIS platform to complete a case study report on a self-selected environmental hazard topic. The course is divided into four component. The first component includes lectures covering the theoretical framework of environmental systems and disaster management and encompassing four topics: natural and man-made hazards, risk assessment, disaster prevention, and mitigation strategies. The second component includes seminars covering four topics: earthquakes, floods, droughts, and pollution. Students are divided into several groups and each group is required to choose a topic and write a report on it. This report will be reviewed by other groups and then defended. The report and defense will be required to hand out as the mid-term report. In the third component, each group will conduct a case study on a self-chosen topic, complete a risk assessment, and propose disaster prevention and mitigation solutions. The report will be presented orally and revised based on critical feedback. The final report will be submitted. In the last part, each group will conduct critical reading and discussion based on the results of the case study. Each student is required to complete a review report respectively for chosen reference papers from professional journals. That reading-report is required to be written and submitted during the independent learning weeks.
