課程目標
授課目的
本課程設計是針對讓學生們對地理資訊系統的功能、使用以及限制有充分的基礎瞭解。並且配合電腦實際操作,對不同領域的應用給予適切的案例分析。同時給予學生們基礎地理資訊系統及土地資訊系統的介紹,以及他們在空間分析與資訊管理上的應用。
課程目標:
1. 由基礎的地理及地圖觀念出發,以建立學生對GIS的背景科學與知識有完整性的觀念。
2. 提供適切的實際案例分析,讓學生對GIS在實務上的應用有通盤性的瞭解。
3. 透過實際的電腦實習課程操作,讓學生們更進一步的瞭解電腦軟體的運作,奠定日後GIS分析能力的基礎。
4. 透過期末完整的GIS作業報告,讓學生們有一個實際操作GIS資料建立、分析以及展現的完整程序。
5. 為進階的GIS課程奠定良好的基礎。

課程概述
壹、授課目標:
地理資訊系統作為一種操作性的技術工具,對傳統都市計畫學科的規劃手帶來的影響卻是全面性的質變,本課程教授目標,在訓練學生如何透過此門新的技術工具,重新檢視現有都市計畫規劃方式,理解如何運用新工具,來突破並且達成以往都市計畫規劃難以深入之規劃瓶頸,發掘各種新的規劃手法可能生。
貳、授課內容概述:

授課內容
空間資訊的掌握,為空間規劃者所必須具備的基礎能力。而地理資訊系統(Geographical Information System)為一整合各項相關空間資訊內容與處理2D平面、3D立體與4D時間與空間分析的工具;具有資料擷取、編修、更新、儲存、查詢、處理、分析與展示等功能。
因此本課程透過學年課的安排,以課堂上機實作、作業和上機測驗評量的方式,帶領同學們認識地理資訊系統之內涵與應用領域;訓練同學們透過Arc GIS Pro軟體之操作,製作空間規劃與分析圖資,並建立應用Arc GIS工具整合都市規劃之資料蒐集、呈現、分析與實質規劃之基礎能力。
其中,上學期課程內容著重在1.GIS基本原理;2. WMTS與開放資料的蒐集與應用;3.GIS的資料模型;4.GIS資料建檔;5.表格屬性的編輯;6.圖資編修更新;7.專業主題地圖設計。下學期課程內容則著重在1. Arc GIS Story map & Arc GIS Online介紹;2.拓樸與空間分析;3.空間分析技術;4.地形分析;5.路網分析;6.GIS在都市計畫的應用;7. 3D場景動畫。
The ability to acquire and manage spatial information is a fundamental competency for urban and spatial planners. A Geographic Information System (GIS) is an integrated tool that consolidates various types of spatial data and supports 2D planar, 3D three-dimensional, and 4D spatiotemporal analysis, with capabilities including data acquisition, editing, updating, storage, querying, processing, analysis, and visualization.
Accordingly, this year-long course is structured around hands-on computer-based exercises, assignments, and practical examinations. The course introduces students to the concepts and application domains of GIS, while training them to operate ArcGIS Pro to produce spatial planning and analytical datasets. Students will develop foundational skills in applying ArcGIS tools to integrate data collection, visualization, spatial analysis, and physical planning within the context of urban planning.
The first semester focuses on:

2.Collection and application of WMTS (Web Map Tile Service) and open data
3.GIS data models
4.GIS database creation
5.Attribute table editing
6.Spatial data editing and updating
7.Professional thematic map design
The second semester focuses on:
1.Introduction to ArcGIS StoryMaps and ArcGIS Online
2.Topology and spatial analysis
3.Spatial analysis techniques
4.Terrain analysis

6.Applications of GIS in urban planning

授課方式
以課堂講授Lecture與電腦實作為主,藉由隨堂/回家作業,讓同學們孰悉ArcGIS Pro各分析模組工具的操作,並為學期的檔案管理作業奠定基礎。
期中與期末報告,則讓同學們具備實際應用Arc GIS Pro軟體之操作製作空間規劃與分析圖資的經驗,以為日後繼續求學或從事都市設計與規劃時作準備。
Instruction is primarily conducted through lectures and hands-on computer laboratory sessions. In-class and take-home assignments enable students to become proficient in operating various analytical modules within ArcGIS Pro, while establishing sound practices for semester-long data and file management.
Midterm and final project reports provide students with practical experience in using ArcGIS Pro to create spatial planning and analytical outputs, preparing them for future academic pursuits or professional work in urban design and urban planning.
