課程目標
主要在於為初次執行專題研究的學生而設計的研究操作課程。目標有三；1.企圖建立學生能發展科學方法以解決特定的地理問題的技能；2.幫助學生能撰寫一篇學術論文或研究報告；3.訓練學生具備能上台發表論文的能力。

課程概述
特別為初次執行研究專題大學部學生而設計的研究操作課程，企圖建立學生能發展科學方法解決特定的地理問題的技能，並幫助學生撰寫一篇學術論文。除了探討地理學科學研究的本質外，具體設定地理問題，擬定可行的研究計畫，進而搜集、處理和分析資料，指導學生按部就班完成研究，形成學術性研究報告，並訓練學生上台公開發表的能力，具體目標有二：1.To enable the student to develop a scientific method to solve a particular geographic problem. 2.To serve as an aid in preparing a research report/paper/thesis. This course is designed to guide for college students experiencing their first involvement in an actal research project.
