課程目標
主要在於有系統地探討區域地理學的理論與方法,以了解本主題的內涵及其當代學術思潮。目標有四;1.能了解歐美地理學中的區域概念、方法及方法論。2.能分析區域的社會和經濟基礎。3.能掌握新區域地理學的主要議題及其地方意識和認同;4.能剖析全球化和全球新領域秩序重構的關聯性。

課程概述
有系統地探討區域地理學的理論與方法,以了解本主題的內涵及其當代學術思潮,供為該領域研究基礎。主要內容含:歐美地理學的區域概念、區域研究方法與方法論、區域的社會與經濟基礎、新區域地理學的主要議題、區域/地方意識與認同、全球化與新領域秩序等。
This course is essentially designed to explore questions of reflection and restatement seeking to consolidate the framework of regional study from its early origins to its modern form.It does not only seek to explore the new research frontiers that currently challenge spatial constructs but also into the new corpus of regional theory.
授課內容
本課程主要依循時間的演進,介紹地理學區域傳統的源起、興盛、衰落至再興的過程
探討在此演變的進程中,地方與區域概念的轉變,及其如何反映世界環境與學術思潮的變遷
比較從傳統到現代,地方與區域研究在方法上的差異與革新情形
藉由當代地方與區域研究趨勢與研究課題的探討,評析地方與區域研究未來發展的方向
