課程目標
本課程主要在建立基本經濟概念,再以之建構都市經濟的基本基礎。economical introductory course, this class is designed to give student who is interested in urban planning to become familiar with urban economics in principle and practice.

課程概述
講授內容包括:1.基本個體總體經濟觀念原則;2.實証都市經濟學;3.規範都市經濟學,目的在奠定研究都市計畫之前提與基礎.As an The emphasis of the course is developing analytical skill of urban affairs as well as ability to notice of micro ¯o economics, postive urban Economics and normative urban economics. As a urban planning student, it is well worth making the effort to learn economy if you enter the field of planning field.
授課內容
都市經濟學結合經濟學與地理學，由家戶的效用最大化及廠商的利潤最大化來探討都市區位，乃至於其內部各種都市活動在空間上的決策。本課程將引導學生思考發生在都市的一些現象。例如，都市為何會存在? 為何都市會有大小之分，而且大小規模差異至為懸殊？為何高樓大廈會集中在市中心區？又為何都市範圍內幾乎看不見農業使用？
Urban Economics, referring to the disciplines of Economics and Geography, discusses the spatial distribution of human activities and land use embodied in the theories of consumer’s utility maximization and producer’s profit maximization. In this course, we explain why cities exist, why different city sizes, why land being priced, and why prices are different. Class discussion will also cover topics such as how transportation changes urban land distribution, and how people move to achieve equilibrium.
