課程目標

地圖是傳播空間資訊的主要工具，繪製地圖則是地理學科的專業訓練。本課程主要教授地圖的設計理論，訓練學生靈活運用衍生自生理學、心理學、色彩學及傳播學等的諸多模式，結合電腦技巧，設計出具有可讀性、對比關係、形底關係與層階關係的專業地圖。實習方面以地圖專用軟體，配合統計學、美學、色彩學等理論的連結，訓練學生具備專業的地圖製作概念與能力。

課程概述

地圖是傳播空間資訊的主要工具，繪製地圖則是地理學科的專業訓練。本課程主要教授地圖的設計理論，訓練學生靈活運用衍生自生理學、心理學、色彩學及傳播學等的諸多模式，結合電腦技巧，設計出具有可讀性、對比關係、形底關係與層階關係的專業地圖。
This course aims to provide students with an professional knowledge of cartographic design principles,including the models resulted from physiology, psycology and color science,which will applied on map design process. 希望同學自學術理論認識地球環境，愛惜自然資源；自課程活動學習保護生存空間，深思生態資源得以永續發展人類所扮演之角色。訓練同學具思考能力、創造力與國際關。 The principal of this course is an interdisciplinary study of how the nature works and how things in nature are interconnected. The purpose of this course is to convey concisely and clearly the nature of the field of geography, it intellectural challenges, and the logical interconnections of other parts. The central theme bases on the sustainability of nature resources. Through an introduction to basic principles of natural rhythm, to the interrelationships between humans and their environment, and to the effects of environmental change, the course aims to provide students sound knowledge of natural geography, to understand the role humans play in global environmental changes, and to well manage the sustainable society.

授課內容

地圖學是地圖製作的理論基礎。當今的地圖技術均是由此理論衍生而來。因此，本課程將著重在理論的探究，並配合上機實作來印證。主要上課內容，包括地圖歷史、視覺與識覺、色彩理論及地圖設計，期能讓學習者具有地圖基本素養。
Cartography is the theoretical basis of map making. Today's map technology is derived from these theories. Therefore, this course will focus on theoretical exploration and verify it through practical exercises. The main course contents include map history, visualization and perception, color theory and map design, expecting the learners own the basic map literacy.
