課程目標
本課程的主要目標是在指導學生對於英文論說文的了解與習作 課程內容除了包含論說文的寫作綱要及進階文法修辭的技巧外 並包括輔導學生順利通過托福或多益考試中的寫作相關試題
The objective of this course is to provide EFL students a clear understanding to practical and academic writing in English. The course is designed to help students to be engaged in the process of essay organization, paragraph development and rhetorical skills.

課程概述
課程內容主要是幫助學生寫出完整且有組織的論說文 一學年的課程將分為兩部分 上學期是著重在介紹論說文的主體架構及組成元素 下學期是介紹論說文的各種型態
Course contents will help studetns be able to produce well-organized and coherent essays on both academic and non-academic topics. The first part of the course will focus on the fundamental aspects of essay writing. The second part of the course will foucs on the constrcution of specific types of essays, including processing, comparison and contrast, problem-solving, and cause-effect.
授課內容
本課程為英文系三年級學生設計,主旨為訓練學生書寫五段以上的英文作文,其內容除了基本的段落架構的概念複習(舉例,描述,敘事,定義,因果關係,分類,比較,過程)之外,也包含如何將各自獨立的段落架構整合成為長篇的論說文,練習這個過程的同時,學生在書寫文句的同時也必須複習基礎與進階的文法概念。
授課方式
This course is designed for Senior English Majors to improve their composition of more than 5 paragraphs. In addition to the reviewing of the paragraph writing (exemplification, description, narration, definition, cause and effect, classification, comparison and contrast, and process), the studying includes how a writer organizes the individual paragraphs into an essay. Practicing this process of writing, the students are also required to review the basic and advanced grammar.
