課程概述

本課程以地球系統為觀點，探討地球環境的變遷。內容包括大家耳熟能響的全球暖化、臭氧洞、酸雨、聖嬰現象、海水面升降、洪水、乾旱、能源危機、土地退化、土地開發與地表變遷等議題；此外，亦將探討地球環境變遷對人類活動、昆蟲、植物多樣性及經濟產業產生的衝擊。最後將探討面臨全球變遷的挑戰，台灣的回應，及政策、法規如何調整,，以確保永續經營與發展。
This course is based on the earth system’s point of view. The main focus is to study the global environmental changes. The content of this course includes topics such as: global warming, ozone depletion, acid rain, El-Nino effect, sea level changes, flood and drought, energy crisis, land degradation, land development and surface changes. Subjects such as global environmental changes on human activities, insects, plant bio-diversity and industry economic impacts will be discussed. Eventually, Taiwan government reactions, policy and regulation mitigations to combat the challenge of global changes will be explored in order to achieve future sustainable management and development.

授課內容

本課程主旨在於探討全球環境的變遷及其所帶來的影響。全球氣溫持續上升的趨勢，說明了加劇的暖化現象。許多證據指出，地球系統已經產生變化。由於人類依賴地球系統的資源，以取得經濟發展和文化延續，因此全球環境變遷所帶來的影響，最終則會對人類的生活、社會的健全及未來各國的發展產生巨大的效應。本課程將探討全球環境變遷的現象、衝擊影響及因應。希望藉此課程，讓同學對於當前全球環境變遷議題有整合性的了解。

This module aims to explore global environmental change and its impacts. The upward global temperature trend shows that each recent decade has been warmer than its predecessor. There is abundant evidence that Earth system is shifting. Humans utterly depend on Earth System resources and services for economic and cultural well-being. It follows that changes in global environment will ultimately drive significant changes in the life chances of people, well-being of societies and the future developments of nations. This module discusses themes of various dimensions of global environmental change. Through this course, students are expected to obtain comprehensive understandings of global environmental changes.
