教學目標內涵
地理實察這門課程，旨在培訓學員實踐地理調查的能力。透過室內授課、戶外地理調查以及討論課程，引導學員完成地理調查報告，藉此熟悉地理資訊的蒐集、分析和統整，以及調查報告的寫作。

課程概述
田野調查在地理研究和地理教育中具有核心地位。除地理學外，其他學科的調查研究、公私部門的營運管理、甚至在個人生活的日常實踐中，也常會運用田野調查的方法來解決問題。透過地理實察，能讓學生在課堂外獲得與特定地理議題相關的一手經驗與知識。本課程的目標在於幫助學生能認識地理實察，了解地理實察進行的程序和方法，並實際進行田野調查的操作。希望透過這些理解與訓練，使非本科系的學習者對於地理實察能有更清楚的了解與更好的掌握。
Fieldwork is central to geographical research and education. Besides geography, fieldwork is also important for other academic realms, enterprise operation, or even personal everyday practices. Geographical fieldwork provides the opportunity for students to gain first-hand experience of geographical issues away from the classroom. The aim of this course is to help students who not major in geography to get the most out of their fieldwork and to develop clear, critical ideas about what that fieldtrip is and what it can do.
