課程概述
「哲學希臘文」指的是：古希臘哲學所使用的希臘文，有時也叫古典希臘文，基本上以西元前五至四世紀雅典/阿提卡地區所使用的希臘文為主，也就是蘇格拉底、柏拉圖當時所使用的希臘文。西方哲學從古希臘哲學展開，西方語文、文化受到古希臘文明深遠的影響，從這角度而言，學習古希臘文除了提供古希臘哲學學習者接近原文原典的機會之外，對西方的哲學、語文、文化的學習都有幫助。國內類似課程極少，為此開設本課。本課程主要在培養閱讀能力，授課內容將由字母開始，在簡單的閱讀中學習名詞、形容詞的各種位格，與動詞的基本變化。受限於教師學力限制，本課程僅能提供最初步的古希臘文學習；為彌補此點，課程將以引導學生得以進一步自修或銜接國內外正規古希臘文課程為目標。希臘文至今仍然存在，但從古至今變化極大，史詩使用的是更古的希臘文，新約聖經使用的則是較晚的希臘文，和西元前五至四世紀的希臘文略有差異；至於現代希臘文則差異巨大。我們課上學的僅是古典希臘文的一點基礎而已。此外，古希臘文文法繁複，而且古代語文的學習和現代語文相較沈悶許多，學習需要耐心。而且，教材以英文寫成，學生需具備基本英文閱讀能力。修課者務必瞭解課程的侷限與負擔。 The ‘Philosophical Greek,’ means that the Greek is used in ancient philosophy, which is sometimes called ‘classical Greek’ as well, i.e. the Attic Greek used in Athens around 5th to 4th century B. C.. It is the Greek spoken or written by Plato, Socrates and their contemporaries. Ancient philosophy is the first page of the long tradition of western philosophy. The ancient Greek civilization is undeniably extremely influential in various western cultures and languages. This makes learning ancient Greek much more fruitful than a mere means to read original texts of Greek philosophy. The course aims to provide a very basic introduction from alphabet, cases and declensions of nouns, adjectives, to some forms of verbs. By this course, students are expected to study further courses and gradually develop an ability to study ancient Greek independently in the future. The Greek taught in this course is not really the same with the earlier Greek in epics, nor with the Greek in the Bible. It is very different from Modern Greek. Students must understand this. On the other hands, students must be able to read English for our textbook is edited in English. Besides, not to be bored by grammar and detailed reading, much patience is required.
授課內容
「哲學希臘文」指的是：古希臘哲學所使用的希臘文。本課程教授的是西元前五至四世紀雅典/阿提卡地區所使用的希臘文，也就是蘇格拉底、柏拉圖當時所使用的語文。希臘文至今仍然存在，但從古至今變化極大，史詩使用的是更古的希臘文，新約聖經使用的則是較晚的希臘文，和西元前五至四世紀的希臘文略有差異；至於現代希臘文則用字和文法都有更大的差異。我們課上學的僅是阿提卡希臘文的一點基礎而已。此外，古希臘文文法繁複，而且古代語文的學習和現代語文相較沈悶許多，學習需要耐心。而且，教材以英文寫成，學生需具備基本英文閱讀能力。修課者務必要瞭解課程的侷限與負擔。
西方哲學從古希臘哲學展開，西方語文、文化受到古希臘文明深遠的影響，從這角度而言，學習古希臘文除了提供古希臘哲學學習者接近原文原典的機會之外，對西方的哲學、語文、文化的學習都有幫助。
本課程是入門課，主要在培養古希臘文閱讀的基礎能力，授課內容將由字母開始，學習名詞、形容詞的各種位格，與動詞的基本變化（現在式直述語氣及不定式）等等，提供最初步的古希臘文學習；下學期可銜接「哲學希臘文」，繼續學習動詞的其他變化、子句，和各種位格的不同用法等等。期能引導學生進一步自修或銜接國內外正規古希臘文課程，逐步達到研讀古希臘文哲學文本的能力。
The ‘Philosophical Greek’ refers to the Greek used in ancient philosophy, i.e. the Attic Greek used in Athens around 5th to 4th century B. C.. It is the Greek spoken or written by Plato, Socrates and their contemporaries. The Greek taught in this course is not the same with the earlier Greek in the epics, nor with the Greek in the Bible. It is more different from the modern Greek. Students must understand this. Students in this course are required to be able to read English for we use English textbook. Besides, not to be bored by the detailed grammar, much patience is required.
Ancient philosophy is the first page of the long tradition of western philosophy. The ancient Greek civilization is undeniably extremely influential in various western cultures and languages. Thus learning ancient Greek would be much more fruitful than merely grasping a means to read original texts of Greek philosophy. The course will provide a very basic introduction from alphabet, cases and declensions of nouns, adjectives, to the present indicative forms of verbs. Interested students may continue to learn more tenses and moods of verbs, further uses of cases, of participles, of clauses and so on, in the 'Philosophical Greek' course next semster. By the course, students are expected to study further courses and gradually develop an ability to read ancient Greek texts independently in the future.

使用英文課本；授課者講解文法，帶領學生朗讀；以回家作業提供練習書寫的機會，並以隨堂測驗提供操作文法的機會。

要考試
期中、期末開書考。
（但有部分的隨堂測驗是閉書考。）
其他需求每週繳交作業（「作業」成績）；上課需朗讀，並有隨堂測驗（「課堂參與」成績）。每節課需簽到，不計分，但可作為缺課記錄憑證。
